Aimée McLeod

Aimée has been potting since the early 70's, learning from experienced and generous potters. She uses several techniques, including coiling, slab casting and wheel throwing to create a range of work both sculptural and functional. Her work has evolved naturally, not by design but by progression, which then suggests a theme. Her current series of bird sculptures have evolved from her "Visitor" series, and are humanoid, but not really human, visitors from another world.
I love all aspects of working with clay, to the point of obsession. I get real satisfaction from developing glazes that look organic and are appropriate for the piece.
