Garry Nash has been working with hot glass since 1978 and is one of the "granddaddies" of the studio glass movement in New Zealand and is held in high esteem both within NZ and internationally. Garry joined Sunbeam Glassworks in Auckland in 1981 as a full-time glass artist and acquired ownership of Sunbeam seven years later - several of our glass artists worked for him there and had the benefit of his immense knowledge, skill and creativity with glass. He has often blown in the hot shop adjacent to our gallery and we have been privileged to watch him at work there. Garry has returned to blowing glass after a six year break, and we are delighted to have his work in the gallery again.
